One day in a coffee shop, a line of poetry strayed across a painted canvas and so began Jim and LeEtta’s collaboration adventure, and the beginning of J-Lee Creative Productions.
Their images and words sometimes bring smiles or tears, but almost always produce a fond memory. The unique blending of their work draws on inspiration from all around as they continue to travel the pathways they craft along their endless creative journey.
LeEtta LaFontaine is an accomplished artist who has experienced successes in many mediums. LeEtta lived and raised a family in the northern regions of British Columbia for a large part of her life. There, nature and her family became the focus of much of her early work. She has been painting since 1982 and received a Fine Arts diploma from Okanagan University College in 2002.
Locally and internationally, her work is recognized by her attention to detail. LeEtta’s photography skills enhance her imagery and allow her to capture the moment on canvas with her brush strokes.
She is currently a member of the Fort Langley Artist’s Group (FLAG) and has recently had her work published in the book Sunsets and Sand, one of the many collaborations with her partner Jim.
Jim McGregor is a thirty-six year veteran of the fire service, currently serving as the Fire Chief of the Langley City Fire-Rescue Service. He was born and raised in Langley B.C. and began sharing his writing in the mid 1980’s. His work has been established around the world and published in many articles, magazines, and competitions.
His words and phrases often take the reader to the scene of the poem as a participant rather than a mere observer. His poetry, Climb Higher, Four Black Horses, and the Demons in the Smoke collaboration with LeEtta, have raised funds for charities across Canada and the 9/11 Fund for victims of the World Trade Center attack.
Jim is an honorary member of the Langley Writer’s Guild and a member of the BC Songwriter’s Assn. His lyrics for The Place to Be became the official song of the City of Langley’s fiftieth birthday celebration.
The hands and hearts of Jim and LeEtta produce art work, poetry, sketches, lyrics or portraits, on their own, or professionally prepared to your specifications. J-Lee Creative Productions can develop themes for anniversaries, weddings, and retirements or any functions or fundraisers you may be planning. We also offer a service to prepare your written material or art work into various forms of presentation which will allow you to promote or display your works.
